As an expansion of the investment the ASLA group has made into communities to date, the Foundation will address economic, social and spatial disparity by delivering infrastructure, resources and skills to create self-sustaining communities. Together with public and private sector partners the Foundation’s interventions will focus on projects under the following pillars and themes:
SUCCESSES TO DATE
The ASLA group has achieved the following milestones, which underpin the vision for the Foundation and ultimately is the success on which the Foundation will continue to grow and impact communities:
- Approximately 50 000 houses built for vulnerable communities.
- A total of 5 200 contracts to small businesses over the past decade.
- R4 million invested in Rural Community initiatives since 2015.
- A Safe-house built in Bredasdorp.
